Girlguiding Wiltshire South has 3,000 members, and a large waiting list of girls wishing to join. Know anyone wishing to join? Please register you interest on the Girlguiding UK site.

Girlguiding Wiltshire South aims to have sufficient volunteer leaders to enable every girl and young woman, in the county, to have the opportunity to join us.

Girlguiding Wiltshire South is part of a nation-wide and world-wide movement which enables girls and young women to fulfil their potential, and to take an active and responsible role in society through its distinctive, stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities. These are delivered by trained and CRB`d volunteer leaders.

Girlguiding Wiltshire South is one of sixteen guiding counties and islands in the South West Region. The Region HQ is to be found at St. Ann's Manor, Salisbury.

"Berwick" is our county HQ, our home on the edge of the Salisbury Plain. It is a converted village school, where members stay on holiday or camp. Activity Days take place during the year. Many leaders' meetings and social gatherings are held at "Berwick". It is available to hire for non-members, too.

Girlguiding Wiltshire South is made up of five Divisions;

  • Devizes, Lavington, Melksham and Potterne are in Mid Wilts
  • Amesbury, Durrington, Shrewton, Stonehenge and Tidworth are in Salisbury Plain
  • Bourne Valley, Downton, Wilton and Salisbury are in Sarum
  • Nadder, Mere, Warminster and Westbury are in South West Wilts
  • Bradford-on-Avon, and the Trowbridge area are in West Wilts

The Trefoil Guild is an invaluable support group for its own members and for the younger members of Girlguiding UK. Many of its members are retired leaders, though it is open to all members aged 18+. There is a County Trefoil Guild, some Division ones, and a "Wiltshire Wide" group. All Trefoil members are willing volunteers, who meet regularly, and remain actively involved in Girlguiding Wiltshire South.

All our members are entitled to wear a "World Badge", which shows a global membership to the World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides (WAGGGS), which encompasses nearly every country in the world. It is a world- wide movement which is continually growing and adapting to the needs of it's membership.
