Friends of Berwick
Friends of Berwick Newsletter 2020
You might or might not be a paid up “Friend”, but you are considered a friend of the county of Wiltshire South, which has now been in existence for 45 years.
“Friends of Berwick” raised £190 at the Chocolate Bingo held in Spring 2019.The chocolate fountain and fruit pieces were popular. A further £128 was raised at the Summer cream tea & Fun & Games day. In the Autumn, we raised £168 at the Bag Beetle & enjoyed afternoon tea.
The AGM was informative. Sarah Bennett, West Wilts Div. Comm told us about the new programme for all Sections of Girlguiding. The “Friends” paid for the oven to be cleaned professionally. We did not receive any requests to purchase items for Berwick, so our funds are growing and being kept safe for when they are needed.
The front hedge at Berwick has grown so well, it is now being trimmed professionally. The back hedge has some more growing to do. Meanwhile, the “Friends” are keeping it in check. The resident Barn Owl still prefers to roost under cover at the end of the Lodge. He leaves lots of owl pellets for the curious to investigate. He might even sleep in the box the “Friends” provided for him!
