Hiring Fees

In keeping our prices affordable we hope your unit will support us by using Berwick for your residential/activity.

Pratten Building
Suitable for use in conjunction with the main building as an extra room (but not for sleeping). If hired as dry day shelter for camp sites it can be used for emergency sleeping.
Ideal for craft activities or quiet games not excessive physical exercises ie running/jumping.

Day Visitors
All Day Visits - Units, Districts, Divisions & Trefoil Guild - £2.00 (2011/2012) per person
Evening Visits (after 5pm) - Units, Districts, Divisions & Trefoil Guild - £1.00 (2011/2012) per person
County Events
A charge of £1.00 (2012) per girl attending a County Day Event will be charged w.e.f. 1st Jan 2012. Would organisers please complete County Hire Form within 3 weeks of booking date with Bookings Secretary and complete County Payment Sheet a.s.a.p. after the event.
Wood for Burning
Wood for burning can be provided free of charge (2012)

- All centre charges are revised annually
- Sleepovers exceeding 24 hours will be charged as for 2 days
Damage Waiver
Due to damage and losses incurred recently at our Centre, the Berwick Management Committee has been forced to request a damage waiver deposit of £50.00 in addition to the booking deposit.
Please send this on a separate cheque, post dated to coincide with your visit. The cheque will be returned promptly after settlement of your account, providing the centre has been left in a clean satisfactory condition.
The Committee reserves the right to request a payment to cover any damage found, once the damage waiver cheque has been returned, providing sufficient evidence to the culprit to substantiate their request.
Cancellation Fee
Should a booking have to be cancelled, notification is required in writing and the person/unit may be liable to a cancellation fee.
Arrivals and Departures
Arrivals from 1.00pm onwards, off site by 12 noon.
Weekend arrivals Friday 4.30pm onwards, off site by 3.30pm Sunday.
These times may be varied, please consult with the Booking Secretary.
Overnight/sleepovers (max 24 hours), times to be arranged with the Booking Secretary.
Cars, caravans and camper vans can park on the tarmac area only. A request for these should be made to the Booking Secretary who will give permission if appropriate and quote a price per night.
To Make a Booking
- Confirm date(s) with Booking Secretary and within 3 weeks send written confirmation.
- Complete a 'Confirmation of Booking' form, having read the 'Condition of Hire'.
- Complete the appropriate 'Undertaking of Indemnity' form:
- Applicable to Girlguiding and Scout Association members.
- Applicable to non Girlguiding and Scout Association members.
- Within 14 days of provisional booking send forms, deposit cheque and Damage Waiver cheque to the Booking Secretary.
- Complete an 'Arrivals & Departure Confirmation' form and send to the Booking Secretary at least 3 weeks prior to event.
- All outstanding monies must be paid, along with a completed 'Payment Sheet' (including 'Souvenirs' payment sheet), to the Booking Secretary within two weeks of your departure from Berwick.
